Achievements 2019
Presentation of the association by a young member in his school in Chatou followed by a collection of books for schools in Madagascar - Program "Book and Tree" - Organization of a reading rally.
Donations to Madagascar in December 2019 for 3 schools: Androhibe- Fonohasina and Beforona.
In Beforona, this is the first year of donations to the school called "La Ruche" 300kms north-east of the capital. The association held a book delivery session with the director and the teaching team in the presence of kindergarten and primary students in December 2019. Two students made beautiful speeches of thanks in French and thanked the school of Chatou in particular. Their speeches were prepared especially for the generous donors. It was a very emotional moment.
In Fonohasina, the association made for the 2nd year, a donation to the school called "Fanasina" in the suburbs of the capital Tananarive.
In Androhibe, a reading space had been created in 2018 in collaboration with the school director, for nursery and primary school children in this school called "Paul Minault". In December 2019, the association organized a session to hand over books and toys to the director and the teaching team in the presence of kindergarten and primary students in this reading space.

Handing-over of book donations followed by a sustainable development action: reforestation with the participation of children.
On this occasion, 31 trees were planted. Raising students' awareness of the importance of environmental protection is a major focus of our action. The association launches the "Book and Tree" program to offer each supported school the opportunity to participate in the reforestation of Madagascar.

Collaboration with the school in Chatou for a solidarity action to collect donations from students in November 2019.
A young volunteer member of the association mobilized his classmates with the support of his teacher, the principal and the teaching staff to organize a used book drive. The students and their parents responded to this solicitation from our young volunteer member who presented the association and its missions. At first envisaged as a gesture of solidarity from one class in the school, the movement eventually spread to the whole school, under the impetus of the teaching staff whom we thank for this initiative.
More than 450 books were donated by the school to the association. What a joy and surprise for the members of the association who decided to continue the actions carried out in the schools of previous years but also to extend its solidarity missions to new schools. 3 schools benefited from these actions in December 2019.
Back in France, the young volunteer member presented to his classmates in Chatou, the unique experience lived in Madagascar with the children and teachers of the schools that received the books. His classmates in Chatou were very interested and asked pertinent questions about the actions carried out. It was a real sharing and a real sensitization of the students of Chatou also to the issues of education and sustainable environment. Indeed, the young volunteer member reported that 31 trees have been planted in collaboration with schools in Madagascar. And this number 31 corresponds to the number of students in his class in Chatou. The issue of environmental protection is everyone's business, whether in Chatou or on the other side of the world. It is this testimony that our young volunteer member wanted to share with his classmates in France.

Organization of a reading rally and prize giving for children in August 2019.
The volunteer member of the association in Madagascar organized a reading rally for volunteer children in August 2019 in the school called "Paul Minault" in Tana.
What a success for the reading rally!

Donations to Madagascar in June 2019
This trip brought back boxes of books and toys to expand Library Project 1. In addition, our visit to the project allowed us to evaluate its functioning and to find new ideas to motivate the children.
Apart from the donations, we proposed the reading rally with the contribution of our children in class in Chatou, inspired by the activities in their own school.
On our return, we brought back 18 traditional Malagasy musical instruments. Music is part of Malagasy daily life. These instruments are much more than just entertainment. As part of a cultural exchange, we would like to exhibit them in France.
