Activity Report 

Highlights of 2018, actions carried out and ongoing, balance sheet and outlook.

It is with great joy that we open this first chapter of the life of the association, in this first year of existence. 

The creation of the association Education for Life is the result of a reflection of long time: Madagascar carries in it the resources to develop humanly and economically. However, an alarming fact leads us to wonder why all the aid, all the aid programs carried out for so many decades have not allowed Madagascar to get out of underdevelopment? 

Part of the answer seems to be in the compelling need to master the end-to-end chain of donations and support. It is essential that every penny serves only the action taken and that the beneficiary reports and demonstrates that it has made this aid profitable. 

The vocation of the association Education for Life is to give a chance to the young generations who represent the living force of Madagascar by supporting them in their training, while empowering them in the face of their duties as citizens of the world who must preserve the environment, so unique in Madagascar. The goal is to bring these generations to a true intellectual and economic autonomy. 

Targeted actions are already carried out by the association to concretize this vocation 

 => The Malagasy school Paul Minault in Antananarivo has created a library-toy library space within the school for nursery and primary classes, and has received the delivery of donations of books, toys and library furniture 

=> The Malagasy school Sekoly Fanasina in Fonohasina (30 kms from Antananarivo) has received delivery of book donations for kindergarten and primary classes

The actions are regularly monitored by the association 

=> As soon as a donation is received, it is tracked from the delivery in France to the delivery on the spot in Madagascar. 

=> In addition, to ensure that donations are optimally used by beneficiaries, actions are planned to facilitate reading sessions in the library with the children of the school.

Projects to sustain the association are underway 

=> The construction of a building  for the activities of the association in Ambohidatrimo under construction 

=> The search for partnerships with schools and teachers for the development of action to support education

 => The establishment of communication platforms with potential donors => The development of training programs

=> The establishment of animations with the children within the libraries installed in the schools (ex: rallies-reading) 

1-Our vocation

=> The Association Education for Life is an association law 1901 founded in 2017 by a family of French nationality coming from Madagascar. 

=> The goal of the association is the emancipation of people and the awareness to the protection of the environment, by the education of the underprivileged populations of Madagascar, in particular the youngest ones. 

Access to a better level of training will allow us to: 

> Raise the awareness of the population to the imperative need to follow studies 

> Make Madagascans, and especially the younger generations, aware that the protection of the environment in Madagascar is their own responsibility

> Improve the employability of the populations concerned 

> Find a job or create their own job to target their own economic independence 

2- Our actions in figures

It is an encouraging start for the association as 2 Malagasy schools on a voluntary basis were supported by our team, in less than 1 year of life of the association 

► 270 students benefited from these donations in Malagasy schools 

► 10 people mobilized in Madagascar to personally deliver the donations to schools and also to ensure their proper use by teachers and schools in the long term 

► 300 books donated to Malagasy schools 

► 100 toys offered for the creation of a play area in the Paul Minault School Library and 8 library furniture delivered to Paul Minault School 

► 300 kilos of various donations 

► 4 people mobilized in France to collect donations and prepare shipments to Madagascar 

► 8 return flights Paris - Antananarivo 

3- Our ambition 

Various projects are launched to sustain the action of the association in medium and long term perspective : 

- Organizing activities with kindergarten and primary school children in libraries already installed in schools (eg reading rallies) is essential to support the optimal use of donations, 

- The construction of a building must be finalized. This place will be put at the disposal of the association to host the activities of the association at Ambohidratrimo and to proceed without external constraint, 

- The search for partnerships especially with schools and teachers must be launched to support the development of actions to support education, 

- The setting up of communication platforms must be carried out to make the association and its activities known, but also to meet the expectations of current and future donors who wish to be informed, 

- The development of training programs including internships with professors and professionals must be studied in order to enable young people to create or find jobs in the medium / long term, 

- The design and deployment of awareness modules on environmental protection should be studied.
